Ichetucknee Float and Camping July 31 - August 2, 2009		OUR 2008 - 2009 SNOW SKI SEASON WAS A HIT! As the year comes to a close, I must mention that even though it started off rough and drove many of us on the Trip Committee "batty" due to airline problems in releasing seats and pricing, we struggled through it to provide a fantastic list of ski resorts to spend your hard-earned vacation dollars. And while many of you decided to not take as many trips as you normally have done in years past, or not at all due to the difficulties in our economy, we still had close to 900 Club members take advantage of our trip list and sign up for one or more trips during the season. Our Club is strong, and we will continue to offer resort locations where you want to go each and every year, as well as those new locations that we seek to offer something different. Your Club's Trip Committee is already hard at work in locking down trips for next season, and I for one, can't wait to see the final list! Can you? A HEARTY THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS! As we come to the close of our 08/09 snow ski season, I want to thank so many of our dedicated and hard working volunteers who kept this Club running smoothly in its 39th year of operation, for if it weren't for them, we would have nothing more than possibly our Club's name. Our Officers, Alan Jackson, Joe Bayliss, and Craig Allen as, in order, VP, Secretary, and Treasurer, and our five Board Members serving in Directors-At-Large positions, Mary Pulaski, Julie Santo, Lynn Smith, Nancy DelGatto, and Lynda Weaver as, in order, Assistant Treasurer, Social/Publicity, Office Admin, Catalog Editor, and The Sitzmark & First Tracks Editor... all deserve a huge pat on the back! We also owe big, big THANKS to Pattie Housewright, our Past President, who served in that capacity on our Board, as well as serving as our Florida Ski Council (FSC) Delegate and as our Trip Committee Co-Chair. Joining Pattie on the Trip Committee were Toufic Moumne as Co-Chair, Alan Jackson, Mary Pulaski, Craig Allen, Peggy Gummoe, and yours truly. I also want to give a hearty thanks to our Webmaster, Dennis Gleaton, for everything he does for our Club, year-in, year-out. Without him, the rest of us would be working even a lot harder than we already do since he does so, so much. And although not a part of our Club nor, in particular, the Trip Committee, but one who served a vital function to our Trip Committee, I'd like to thank Rocky Mountain Tours' Lori Adis for providing information, assistance, and finally acquiring our trips this season at great savings. I also want to thank the many trip leaders and assistant leaders of our Club for the past season, for if it weren't for them, our trips wouldn't have left Tampa. They spent many hours of their free time working on insuring that your ski trip vacation would be one of pure enjoyment and hassle-free while traveling with TBSSB. We all work hard in that endeavor, and our product of fabulous ski trips year-in, year-out, speaks volumes of the dedication of ALL of these volunteers mentioned above. So when you run across one or more of these talented and selfless folks, please express your THANKS for a JOB WELL DONE! SADLY, OUR SKI/RIDE SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE ... FOR MOST OF US! Our Club's season (fiscal year) comes to a close on April 30th, and for the most part, most of us put our ski suits, equipment, and accessories away for the season. But not all of us did this, for some will be doing another ski trip "Down Under" to Australia and/or New Zealand this July with Al Desilet. This could be a trip of your lifetime, so if you have the time and the dough (do yourself a favor and check out the latest currency rates), you need to read the trip description located under the Trip List link, then sign up for this trip, and finally get that stuff out again - if you've already put it away for the season.
