Board of Directors

Candidates for Officers and Directors

The board is comprised of Officers and Directors. Officer positions include the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Directors are assigned roles each year by the President, and include Assistant Treasurer, Social/Publicity Director, Catalog Editor and Newsletter Editor. Officers are elected for 1-year at a time. Directors serve a 2-year term, with two elected each year so that we have staggered 2-year terms. Newly elected officials assume office on May 1. Below is a short bio provided by each of the candidates who is running for the board for the upcoming season.

President

Leslie ForemanLeslie Foreman - I have been a club member since 2009. I have been a Trip Leader/Assistant Trip Leader for seven years. I have been a board member for five years. My first two years were as Secretary, followed by one year at Assistant Treasurer, and two years as Treasurer.

During that time, I have worked well with other board members and Trip Leaders and Assistant Leaders to reconcile their trip finances. The financial reconciliation process changed due to the club using the new SAT system. This change created additional levels of complexity and new reporting, with multiple tools/reports to coordinate and cross check the trip financials. I worked very closely with the Trip Committee Chair and Co-Chair to successfully execute the new process and coached the Trip Leaders and Assistant Trip Leaders on best practices.

Each year brings new and ongoing and challenges, including increased costs, complex trip logistics and new member recruitment, while striving to provide a superior travel experience to our current guests/cub members. I feel I am qualified to be the next President of Tampa Bay Snow Skiers and Boarders and look forward to successfully serving in this capacity.

Vice President

Janica VanBrocklinJanica VanBrocklin - I am running for VP position after 3 years of being Social Director, Assistant Leader, and passionate traveler for almost 20. Having a vision of bringing more of us together with local events, my plan is to assure our club will continue to be the leader in on-mountain experiences with fellow travelers!

TBSSB is more than a "ski club": we are a connected social and activity club bringing the passion of skiing to the forefront.

As VP, I will continue to provide opportunities to share that passion and meet new travelers year-round!
