Trip Description

This bicycle holiday takes you to the northern part of Burgundy, which was once a powerful duchy and is famous for its world-class wines. The Yonne, one of the most pristine rivers in the country, opens up this wonderful landscape for cyclists, with charming medieval villages and unique towns. This premium tour in Northern Burgundy is suitable for novice and expert cyclists alike. The tour commences in Moret-sur-Loing. Here you can find more details on the ship, the MS Zwaantje.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Moret-sur Loing
Embarkation at 2 p.m. The medieval fortress town was the backdrop for many of the works of the impressionist painter Alfred Sisley.

Day 2: Moret-sur-Loing - Pont-sur-Yonne, 33-40 km/21-25 mi
The boat takes you to the mouth of the Yonne in the Seine. Before the bike tour you should visit the collegiate church in Montereau.

Day 3: Pont-sur-Yonne - Sens, 20 / 42 km / 12-26 mi
Cycle along the river or through the countryside to learn more about local beekeeping.

Day 4: Sens - Villeneuve-sur-Yonne, 28-52 km / 17-32 mi
On the longer tour you’ll cycle through the cider region surrounding Vauders to Sens, one of the oldest cities in France.

Day 5: Villeneuve-sur-Yonne - Joigny, 21-42 km / 13-26 mi
If you like, you can cycle via Saint-Julian today, which has a very beautiful church. In the afternoon there is a bike tour with wine tasting.

Day 6: Joigny - Auxerre, 26-38 km / 16-24 mi
Visit Joigny, characterised by unique Renaissance houses. The bike tour takes you along the Canal de Bourgogne.

Day 7: Round trip around Auxerre, 30-42 km / 19-26 mi
Today, you can make some bike tours in the surrounding vineyards, or take your time to explore the town that is worth seeing.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, your tour in Northern Burgundy on MS Zwaantje comes to an end.

If you don’t feel like cycling, stay aboard the ship!

Eating and drinking: The B&B tour includes full board (only 1 dinner in Auxerre). In the mornings, you will receive a hearty breakfast, in the evenings we serve three-course meals. For the bike tours we provide you with packed lunches.

Deposit:
$1,000 per person, with completed and signed trip application, along with a copy of your passport. Your passport must be valid for 6 months after your scheduled return date!!

Cancellation Date:
All cancellations must be received in writing by May 1, 2024.
See cancellation policy on the back of the TBSSB trip application.

Balance Due:
May 1, 2024.

Make check payable to Tampa Bay Snow Skiers & Boarders (TBSS&B). Mail completed & signed trip application with your check of $1000 pp. and copy of passport to: Lynda Weaver, 55 Greenhaven Trail, Oldsmar FL 34677.

Prices are subject to change based on the airlines and the fluctuation of the euro.

*** In the event travelers choose air that is not part of the air arrangement as offered in the package, then the following conditions concerning “PPPI” passengers will apply. Such travelers are considered “Participants Pursuing Personal Itineraries” or PPPI.

PPPI: It is imperative that any and all travelers arranging their own air be fully aware of the following facts pertaining to the tour program:

  1. Transfers between airports and hotels are always arranged for the main group and are coordinated with the main group’s flight itineraries.
  2. The transfers also pick up and drop off only at airport terminals that are in the main group’s itineraries. Transfers do not stop at alternate terminals for pick-ups or drop offss.
  3. It is the responsibility of such PPPI passengers to coordinate their flights with the group and for them to be at the appointed place and time that the group is being picked up.
  4. There can be no special arrangements made for PPPI passengers for alternate pickups or drop offs by the transfer companies involved.
  5. All the above is equally applicable to any luggage for such PPPI passengers.
  6. There is not credit for transfers that are not being used in this trip.
