Lodging
Enjoy all the amenities and the warm hospitality of the Snakedance Condominiums, but the best part is you’re 20 yards from the main chairlift. This ski-in ski-out resort is located in the center of the village of Taos Ski Valley that blends old-world alpine tradition with modern convenience. When you finish your day on the mountain, the lodging has a ski valet with ski storage and boot dryers. The condos feature granite kitchens, wireless internet, gas fireplaces and Juliet balconies which makes this place a true slope-side luxury resort. All the units come with split king so we can accommodate couples or singles in every room.
The staff at the Snakedance specialize in sharing their love of Taos Ski Valley with passionate skiers and snowboarders ready to experience the thrill of Taos. The lodging includes a Jacuzzi, sauna, spa, and fitness facility. There is also a concierge service, a market, and a liquor store onsite. There is a game room, on site restaurant (Hondo), and when you get thirsty there is a full service bar. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and services in the Ski Valley that are all within walking distance of the lodging.
Wow, sounds like the perfect place to enjoy your ski/board adventure!
The Mountain
Taos has lots of light, desert-dry powder and plenty of sunshine. Although Taos is known for its expert terrain, the mountain is almost evenly split at 49% green and blue and 51% black and double black. There is extensive snowmaking on all the green and blue runs. Kachina Peak is on every serious skier's and boarder's bucket list and now it much more accessible due to the Kachina Peak lift that arrived in 2015!! The resort grants access to 1,294 acres of skiable terrain and receives an average 300 inches of snowfall annually. The ski area has a great mix of terrain, providing trails for all ability types. You also can take advantage of the Ernie Blake Snowsport School, one of the country’s highest rated ski schools.
Taos Ski Valley is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico and is home to a distinctive European atmosphere combined with local Native American and Spanish cultures. The town of Taos is just 19 miles away and is a quaint town of Native American and Hispanic history with daily shuttles. We have already included a scheduled trip to the town, but you may want to enjoy more days.
