It’s world renowned for its outstanding groomers, as well as terrain for all levels of skiers. One of the best maintained resorts anywhere, you can enjoy chutes, bowls, glades, bumps and the famous corduroy runs all over the mountain. Just 10 minutes to the northwest is the old mining town of Park City where the Sundance Film Festival is held (see more festival info below) and where you can access the Park City ski area. Here you have easy access to 7,300 acres of skiable terrain, including Canyons ski area which can be accessed via Gondola. The base area of Canyons is about a 15-minute drive from Deer Valley.

In 1969, Robert Redford bought the land now known as Sundance and envisioned the careful growth of a community committed to the balance of art, nature and community. Today, Sundance offers an atmosphere steeped in cultural heritage. Sundance Mountain Resort offers a special experience about 45 minutes south of Deer Valley.

We are staying at The Lodges at Deer Valley near the base of Deer Valley Resort. We have hotel rooms with two Queen beds, plus rooms with a single bed (Queen or King). The rooms each have a small refrigerator, toaster, microwave, and coffee maker.

There is a continuously running ski shuttle with a stop right out in front of the Lodge. It will take you the short ½ mile to the base where there are several lifts. This premier lodging property also provides complimentary in-town transportation (by Cadillac) offering access to shopping, dining, and nightlife on Park City’s Historic Main Street.

The Sundance Film Festival, a program of the Sundance Institute, takes place annually in Park City, Utah, the largest independent film festival in the United States. It is held in January in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as at the Sundance Resort. It is a showcase for new work from American and international independent filmmakers. The festival consists of competitive sections for American and international dramatic and documentary films, both feature films and short films, plus a group of out-of-competition sections. This year the festival is being held January 23-February 2, 2020.
