Trip Highlights

Marie and Leslie invite you to Mt. Bachelor, "Someplace Different'. We're staying right Downtown in Bend so the shops, restaurants, micro-breweries, and other attractions will be very convenient. The end of March is a great time to be skiing Mt. Bachelor. This mountain has 300 days of sunshine per year, so we can expect some beautiful ski days. Mt. Bachelor is a great place for expert skiers and boarders to get that burn, plus it's also a fantastic place to learn a snow sport or take the family for an exciting day out. There's a fabulous beginner's lift, offers an easy ride up and a gentle slope down. Plus, there's plenty of other acreage on the mountain that's rated for beginners. In addition to great skiing and boarding, Marie and Leslie are planning some fun and tasty get-togethers, including a welcome reception, Après ski happy hours, and a farewell dinner. Join us for a week of great fun!

Lodging

DoubleTree LogoWe will be staying at the Double Tree by Hilton conveniently located in beautiful historic downtown Bend, Oregon. The view of the 4 mountains fully covered in snow is spectacular and something to behold. Upon arrival, we will have a welcome reception featuring local microbrews, wine and appetizers. Daily full hot breakfast buffet is included. The Double Tree has a fitness center and an indoor pool and hot tub. The rooms are complete with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and wireless Internet. Best of all - the Double Tree sits at only 3,600 feet elevation - so ski the summit, and then you'll sleep comfortably at a low altitude. Included will be complimentary daily transportation just for us. Two shuttles to Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort in the morning and two returning to the hotel in the afternoon. Since we'll be right in Bend, we expect several travelers will rise to the challenge and complete the "Ale Trail". Oh, and yes, there's an app for exploring the "Ale Trail" in Bend and more about the Double Tree.

The Mountain

It's 360° of Amazing!!! If you've never skied down the sides of a volcano (not to worry; the last eruption was over 8,000 years ago) --- this is the trip for you! Join Marie and Leslie to see this very beautiful and a something different location! You can ski or board 360 degrees off the summit in any direction; take enchanting runs through the trees, ski the wide open beautiful bowls, or cruise the groomers. Mt. Bachelor has it all in abundance.

This mountain has more snow than most in the U.S., averaging almost 400 inches annually on 4,318 skiable acres, plus March and April are typically the best for skiing. Elevation at the base is only 6,300' and the summit is 9,063', so altitude is not an issue. The trails are fairly evenly mixed with 15% Novice, 35% Intermediate, 30% Advanced and 20% Expert, so there is plenty of terrain for every level of skier and boarder.

Mountain Statistics:
Average Snowfall: 150" – 200" with a base of 462"
Annual Days of Sunshine: 300 days
Elevations: 9,063” Summit * 6,300’ Base Area * 101 Runs * 3,365 Vertical Drop
Capacity: Over 4,000 Acres * 4,318 Skiable Acres * Longest Run is 4 Miles * 10 Lifts * 7 High Speed Quads
