Meet the Candidates
Candidates for Officers and Directors
The board is comprised of Officers and Directors. Officer positions include the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Directors are assigned roles each year by the President, and include Assistant Treasurer, Social/Publicity Director, Catalog Editor and Newsletter Editor. Officers are elected for 1-year at a time. Directors serve a 2-year term, with two elected each year so that we have staggered 2-year terms. Newly elected officials assume office on May 1. Below is a short bio provided by each of the candidates who is running for the board for the upcoming season.
The club currently has no announced candidates for one of the two Director at Large positions. The ballot has provisions to allow you to nominate a candidate for this, or any other position, subject to vetting from the nominating committee.
President
Janica VanBrocklin - I am running for President of the club this year after serving as Vice President for two years, and Social Director for three. I've led and co-led many trips as a long-time member and am looking forward to another great year serving the club!
Vice President
Roger Copp - Prior President for two years, led or assisted on many trips since 2007, was Assistant Treasurer, Vice President. Served on trip committee, and was Sitz editor for 3 years. I am a slimy snowboarder who loves to have fun on the snow.
Secretary
Karen Ritter - As a member of TBSSB for several years, I am committed to the ongoing success of the best ski and adventure club in Florida. After two consecutive years as the club Director of Events, I am seeking the position of board Secretary to stay involved as part of the leadership team.
Treasurer
Pattie Housewright - I am running for Treasurer. I am currently the Assistant Treasurer and have been trained by Nancy, our current Treasurer. This will be my fifth year on the board, and I have been a long-time trip leader and board member and am looking forward to serving the club another year.
Director at Large
John Eberhardt - For over ten years as a Trip Leader and two years on the Trip Committee, I have dedicated countless hours planning and preparing for our ski trips—because ensuring an incredible experience for all of you is what matters most to me. I’ve had the privilege of leading trips to amazing destinations like Taos, Snowbird/Alta, Park City, Whitefish, Beaver Creek, Big Sky, Crested Butte, Powder Mountain, Snowbasin, Steamboat, Copper Mountain, and soon, Telluride FSC in January 2026. I would love the opportunity to bring that same passion and commitment to the Tampa Bay Snow Skiers Board of Directors. I ask for your vote to help continue making our club the best it can be.
