Trip Highlights

Mike and Ken say: Ski BIG or Stay Home!

Join us for the Biggest Skiing in America®Big Sky Resort is now combined with Moonlight Basin, making it the largest ski resort in the U.S. with about 5,800 skiable acres.  This is the true western skiing experience you've dreamed about – unbridled adventure, abundant snow, uncrowded slopes, and no long lift lines.  Big Sky has it all:  runs that vary from satin-groomed cruisers to steep powdered chutes.  There are also state-of-the-art terrain parks plus the Lone Peak Tram whisks skiers and non-skiers to the summit for extraordinary panoramic views of the wide-open spaces of Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.  Big Sky is in the southwestern corner of Montana, near Yellowstone National Park.   We will fly into Bozeman, about an hour's drive away, and take a charter bus to the resort with a grocery stop along the way.  Most of our lodging is in hotel rooms at the Huntley Lodge, plus a couple of 1 BR units in the adjoining Shoshone Condominium Hotel.  Both choices include the legendary daily hot breakfast buffet at the Huntley.  Oh, and the lodging is slope-side so there is just a short walk to the lifts, virtually ski-in / ski-out!

As your trip leaders, we will also be planning several fun get-togethers for our group.  We have skied all over western North America and are ready to put our years of experience to work for you!  We will assist you with ordering discounted lift tickets and equipment rentals.  Leave the details to us and enjoy your vacation.  Just pay and play!

The Mountains

Big Sky is now combined with Moonlight Basin, so if you haven't been there in a while, it's now even bigger than before.  It's big, with four mountains connected by chair lifts providing families and friends with different skiing abilities a magnitude of intertwined terrain levels.  Powder stashes are continually found throughout Big Sky due to the consistent snowfall in the Northern Rockies.  This resort is a favorite of just about everyone who's been there.  It's BIG, it's uncrowded, and the lift lines are very short.

Big Sky has it all: runs that vary from satin-groomed cruisers to steep powdered chutes. There are also 7 state-of-the-art terrain parks featuring a half-pipe, banked turns, kickers, and its own surface tow for snowboarding! The Lone Peak Tram whisks skiers and non-skiers to the summit for extraordinary panoramic views of the wide-open spaces of Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and neighboring Yellowstone National Park.

There is also plenty to do off the slopes! Other activities include ice skating, sleigh rides, Nordic (cross-country) skiing, helicopter tours, snow cat skiing, dog sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, zip line tours, and more. AND, there’s nearby Yellowstone National Park! Big Sky Resort is the Basecamp to Yellowstone and the perfect headquarters for mountain adventures. The only way to visit Old Faithful and other interior attractions in the winter is by snowmobile or guided snow coach. A winter visit to Yellowstone National Park will give you lasting memories of snowy landscapes, steaming geyser basins, and incomparable wildlife viewing.

Dining in Big Sky offers something for everyone: from wild game to Montana-sized steaks, to a romantic sleigh ride dinner or gourmet pizza delivered right to your door. When the sun goes down the nightlife kicks up and you’ll find live music, dancing, family fun nights, poker games, and free movies shown in the Roosevelt Amphitheater for your enjoyment.
