Only a 30 minute drive from Hayden Airport to Steamboat Springs. We are staying at the Steamboat Sheraton a 4-STAR HOTEL. The Sheraton Steamboat Resort is the closest hotel to the ski lifts at Steamboat, making it truly ski-in/ski-out. We will have a welcome reception party, après ski, final banquet party. The skiing will be on snow which is called Champagne Powder Snow, and though it may sound like a local folk tale, it’s a pure unadulterated, scientific fact. The powder that falls in this secluded little corner of the Rockies is 70% drier, 70% fluffier and 100% more fun to ski and ride than any other powder around. We will have an entire week of fun and GREAT SKIING!!!!!!!

Lodging

The Sheraton Steamboat Resort is the CLOSEST hotel to the ski lifts at Steamboat, making it truly ski-in/ski-out. Hotel rooms are available with either two queen beds or a single king bed. Wireless internet, in-room bottled water and coffee service, ski/board valet, and shuttle service to downtown are complimentary. There is an in-hotel fitness gym, spa, and yoga classes. The hotel has an on-site restaurant and a bar in the lobby and an adjacent fire pit where we can meet to share our experiences. Steamboat Ski & Sports and Mountain Outfitters are located in the lobby.

The Mountain

Steamboat is actually a complete mountain range: Mount Werner, Sunshine Peak, Storm Peak, Thunderhead Peak, Pioneer Ridge® and Christie Peak. 2,965 acres of permitted terrain offer a diversity of trails for all levels of ability. Maverick’s Super pipe is a free rider’s dream. Mavericks is 500 feet long, 56-feet wide, has 18 foot walls, and a 22 foot radius. Steamboat's terrain park adjacent to Mavericks features an outdoor sound system, a variety of rails; kinked, sliders, rainbows, "S", mailboxes, double barrel, and Mini-Mav, a miniature version of the super pipe with five-foot walls, perfect for novice riders. Gladed areas of Pioneer Ridge, Sunshine and Storm Peak are Steamboat's particular claim to fame, with groomed runs with a First Tracks ticket or find your way with free, daily guided ski and snowshoe tours. The tree skiing options range from tight, steep runs to gradual slopes with widely-spaced trees. The resort is far enough from Denver that it does not get the weekend crowd, which means short lift lines and soft snow that last for days after a major storm. The base elevation is 6,900 feet for an easy adjustment to the altitude! There are four on-mountain restaurants. The lists of activities that are on the mountain are endless, but I will guarantee you will have a GREAT TIME!!!!!!

Also: kids 6 to 12 ski free if a parent or grandparent purchases a 5-day or longer lift ticket. One child per paid parent, limit two/family.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS was founded and has flourished with cattle and sheep ranches throughout the Yampa River Valley high up in the Northwest Colorado Rockies. It’s part of the western hospitality that’s made the town as famous as the Champagne Powder snow that covers six peaks that tower over it.

The Old Town Hot Springs , is located conveniently downtown at Third Street and Lincoln Avenue, accessible by lodging shuttles or the Steamboat Springs Transit free bus.

Rustic relaxation at Strawberry Park Hot Springs: Head out of town for the most breathtaking experience in Colorado at Strawberry Park Hot Springs. Nestled in an aspen grove in the mountains about 15 minutes from downtown Steamboat, the wilderness setting highlights the rustic beauty of the Yampa Valley. Several hot pools of varying temperatures are fed by the natural spring water and the rushing Hot Spring Creek.

Ride a snowmobile along the Continental Divide, take a Snowshoe hike for a new aerobic experience or view the majesty of the Rocky Mountains while listening to the teachings of an experienced nature guide. Sample the varied offerings of the restaurants in Ski Time Square, in town or enjoy a Sleigh ride to a secluded spot for a unique dining experience.
